  1. I am a Gray descendant and have documented a lot of my family lines, except for the Gray. Daniel (Dan) F. Gray was born about 1820- 1830 in an unknown place. The death certificate lists Waterbury, VT as his birthplace. On the different census his parents are listed as born in New York. He and most of his family are buried together in the Old Mooers Cemetery in Chazy, NY. His wife was Mary France Mead, born 1830 in Rockingham, VT to Aaron and Hessadiah Goodenow. Married about 1853 – 1854 in an unknown location, they removed to Altona, New York and had my g.g. grandmother, Harriet E. Gray in 1854. She had a sister, Alice, and a brother Henry I believe. Harriet (Hattie) married Albinus Wells and had Florence Wells in 1884 in St Albans, VT. Dan and Mary, along with the children are on the 1867 & 1870 census for Alton, NY. I am looking for all available information on his ancestors.

I also have a Granger line. My G. grandmother was Rosalie Granger born in 1858 who married Joseph Napoleon Menard. They lived in St Albans VT but Rosalie was born in Stanbridge, Canada and married there as well. Her parents were Eusebe born 1823, Stanbridge and Mathilde Senesac born in Iberville, QC July 1828. From there the two families go back to Lebreque, Boudrot,Dupuis, Doucet, Babin, Clouatre, Nadeau and Brouillet. My Brouillet line comes from an Algonquin woman.

If anyone has knowledge of these families being Mohawk I would appreciate a contact. LMThistle@aol.com
I have much more information I can and will share.

  8. My grandmother’s father was Mohawk. Her maiden name was Rose Berthelet (surname of the non-Mohawk man with whom Rose’s mother was married). Rose married Edouard Labrie of Cyrville (in Ottawa). Rose and Edouard eventually lived at Lac des Iles near Mont-Laurier in Quebec. I would really appreciate knowing if anyone knows who my grand-mother’s Mohawk father was and how much time they spent together. Thank you. Louise Labrie (please respond by email at darko2012@bell.net)
