  2. This is a very important peice of Mohawk history. In Ohsweken the last name Panag is fairly common. The Panags of Six Nations are mostly descendants of Abraham Panag a black former slave adopted by the nation who’s son went on and married Joseph Brants daughter.

  3. How do you say or spell “she who walks with the moon” in the language of the Kahnawake. That was the name of our relative who was said to be an Indian Princess, and she has McComber relatives born near Kahnawake on The St. Lawrence. The names in 1850 were Giles Kenyon Russell McComber married to Lydia McComber. Giles was son of Harmon (Norman) McComber (1800) married Lydia Eastman Wright. Harmon was son of William McComber (1796) married to Typhena Briggs . And that is all I have. I am Gr. Gr. Grand daughter of Giles McComber.
