Joseph Laramee (son of Jean Baptiste Laramee and Olive Pitre) married Philomene Boudrias (widow of Joseph Mallette) on March 4th, 1889 in Ste-Philomene Parish in Mercier. At the time of the 1911 census, they were living in Caughnawaga with their children Joseph, Cecille, Lucenne, Arthur, Edouard.

Another household with the same family surname in the Sault-St-Louis census consisted of the couple Alphonse Laramee and Victorine Guerin, and their children Aime, Alphonce, Leonie, Bernadette, Jeanne, Gabrielle and Jean-Baptiste.

Alphonse and Victorine had been married on November 7th, 1893 (also in Ste-Philomene Parish). Victorine’s first husband was Jean Baptiste Laramee while Alphonse was the son of Augustin Laramee and Olive Pitre.

This Spring I’ll be photographing that church and I’ll also check the cemetery for the remains of Mercier couples who passed through Caughnawaga.
