Charles Marchand – son of Alexandre Marchand and Adeline Grenier – married Clarinda Monette – daughter of Joseph Monette and Adele Pitre – on June 6th, 1896 in Ste-Cecile church in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield (Beauharnois, Quebec).  At the time of the marriage, Charles was a baker.

By 1911 the couple were living in  Caughnawaga (now Kahnawake)  with their son Valerien. Charles was running a bakery.
