The 1901 census records for Sault-St-Louis include French Canadian widower  Paul Rufiange  and his daughter Marie Rose Rosanilda. Paul was a farmworker.

Rosanilda had been born on June 9th, 1879 and  baptised two days later in Chateauguay’s St-Joachim church.  Her mother (Paul’s wife) was Delima Viau. The godparents were Jean Baptiste Rufiange and Georgianna Laviolette.

Paul and Delima had been married on June 6th, 1871, also at St. Joachim church. Paul’s parents were Jean Baptiste Rufiange and Josephe Faubert while Delima’s were Jean Baptiste Viau and Mare Duranceau.

  1. My great grandfather was Hector Rufiange Laviolette. Who are his parents? Born in 1900 and died in 1967, the cemetery of St. Joaphim, Chateauguay.
