Indian Named Whitebean Injured at Caughnawaga

Struck by a it-and-run motorist on the highway at Caughnawaga at 9:30 o’clock last night, a 25-year old resident of the Indian reservation identified only as a man named Whitebean, was taken to the Caughnawaga Hospital suffering from severe head injuries, bruises, cuts and shock.

The victim, according to a report which reached local Provincial Police headquarters soon after the mishap, was walking along the highway when he was knocked down by a Montreal-bound automobile which did not stop after the accident.

At the hospital, Dr. L. Hebert, of Caughnawaga, stated the man’s condition was not serous though his wounds were painful. Provincial dectectives are investigating.
