Caughnawaga Bathing Rule (1935) | Surname: John

Caughnawaga Bathing Rule

Bathers are not allowed to parade in the streets of Caughnawaga and will be subject to arrest on charges of immodesty if they disobey this by-law, was the warning issued yesterday by Mayor Frank T. John of the Indian Reserve. Outsiders may use the beach at Caughnawaga, the mayor stated, but they must respect those living on the reserve, particularly the women and children.
