Will Order New Postmaster Off Reservation
Acting on instructions of the Council of the Indian Reserve of Caughnawa, Alderman Peter K. Jacobs will call on Hercule Boyer – who was officially appointed postmaster of Caughnawaga yesterday, to take office on Monday – and order him to leave immediately, it was announced following an emergency meeting of the Caughnawaga Council last evenng. A delegation will also be sent to Ottawa to protest the naming of a French-Canadan paleface as postmaster for the redmen.
