William Chiasson, Caraquet N.B. | Evelyn in Montreal

I’ve been trying to find information about the Chiasson side of my family tree for days, and then I finally came across this site. I was just wondering if anyone had information about William Chiasson and his wife, I think it was Jillette; they would have been born somewhere in the 1800’s and I believe they lived in Caraquet N.B. If anyone has information about these people and any information going farther back then that I would really appreciate it.

Thank You

Hello Jessica,

Guillaume Chiasson and Gillette Paulin (aka Gilette Chiasson) appear in the 1901 Canada Census online. They are living in Caraquet, Gloucester, N.B.(c-2/p.3)with their children: Guillaume, Louise, Joseph, Henri, Daniel and Arthur.

You can get the full lineage of this couple with accurate dates and a one page summary of the family on page 81 of the book “Les Familles de Caraquet” by Fidele Theriault (no direct relation of mine). It is a very useful genealogical dictionary for all families of northeastern New Brunswick and I suggest it only because I have found the book to be very useful – not because I have any connection to it.

Fidele Theriault can be reached at (email suppressed)

Let me know if you’d like more help,
Evelyn Theriault
