The Jacques Laviolette Desilets Mousseau (b1627 France) family
Jacques was a soldier, logger, and farmer.
He married Marguerite Sauviot Lavergne (Fille a Marier b1641 France) -married Sep 1658 in Montreal and had 7 children.
Jacques Mousseau was recruited on 22 Sep 1653 and joined the militia of Ste. Famille, as a soldier of the 12th squad. Arrived in Quebec in 1653 for the Grand Recure to defend the Ville Marie.
You will find them listed in the 1666 & 1671 Quebec Censuses. In 1666 he had 6 acres under cultivation – Isle d’ Orleans, purchased in 1655 and he passed on to his daughter and her husband.
Jacques b. Sep 1627 Aze-le-Rideau, France to Nicolas Mousseau
Died in 1694 Montreal.
