The Beauvais/Canadien Families of Kahnawake and Maine

Awhile back Brian Hinkley shared some really interesting local history about one branch of  the  Beauvais & Canadien Families  in Oquossoc, Maine. Today he’s sharing some period photographs that he believes to be Aida Canadian and her husband Frank King (along with the mysterious brook trout.

Here’s Brian’s message:

Hi Evelyn,
Had a chance to pull multiple pictures from the cabin.  Many from the 1800’s, I believe, but would like to start with two more recent of who I believe is Aida Canadian King and her husband, Frank King.  I wonder if anyone has passed down the story of who caught the beautiful brook trout in the picture.  It is still in our family.
Thanks again for helping me with the historical research.

  2. I now believe the pictures included above are of Frank C. King, Aida’s second husband, and Frank’s daughter, Frances. The fireplace confuses me because the cabin has had a stone fireplace since before 1970, but the mysterious trout and other artifacts from the photos are still in our possession.
