Newfoundland and Labrador only joined the Canadian Confederation in 1949. Prior to that it was a British colony until 1907, and then it became the Dominion of Newfoundland.
Research in this area is somewhat of a speciality, however I have transcribed the surnames from the two areas below which were recorded in Canada’s Northwest Territories census of 1911.
1911
Northwest Territories | Rigolet Census Surnames | Inuit, Mixed (1911)
Northwest Territories | North West Post | Mixed (1911)
1921
Rigolet, Hamilton Inlet | Inuit, Mixed (1921)
