The first Dumaresq in Shippagan was an Anglican from Jersey (Channel islands) by the name of Perry John Newton Dumaresq. He converted to Catholicism and married Delphine Arseneau of the Petit-Rocher Arsenault pioneers.

Their children included: Louisa (m. M. Arseneau), Mary Ann,  Sarah, Francis (m. Suzanne Leger), Elisabeth (m. Guillaume Robichaud, son of Dosithe Robichaud and Cecile LeBlanc), Mary (m. Peter Robichaud), Philomene (m. Charles Robichaud), Joseph (m. Helen Duke), Harriet (religious sister), Helene, Blanche (m. Bobby Bowes), Sophia.
