  • Misc.:  1. The Colin/Collin/Collins descend from Antoine Colin and Mishah Wayers (Weyers edit Latour), through Baptiste Collin and Betsy Henry.  The recognized line of Metis Collins in Ontario descends from Michel Collin’s children:  Jean-Baptiste Collin (m. Mary Menokomey), Joseph Collin (m. Josephte Fraser), Samuel Collin (m. Margaret Minandjizan), and Simon Collin (m. Maria, Unknown surname and Helen Morrison). 2. Colin is the earliest variation of the name. Surname variations include: “Collin” and “Collins”. 3. The earliest known Colins were said to be “Colin dit Lalibertes”.
