• Misc.:   1. In 1872/1873 , a government survey was undertaken to determine the precise international border between Canada and the U.S.A.  Part of the survey was assisted by Metis guides and Chippewa men who were employed as scouts. One of these scouts was Antoine Lambert and Isabelle Houle’s son Charles Lambert. Charles was married to Marie Lawrence who was the daughter of Norbert Lawrence (delegate to the Convention of Forty) and Josephte Parenteau. The Red River Lamberts descend from  Michel Lambert and Margaret Favel through their offspring: James Lambert (m. Suzette Ducharme), John Lambert (m. Hannah Asham), Thomas Lambert (m. Frances Ducharme & Marie Desrosiers), Catherine Lambert (m. Cornelius Irvine/Orvine), Charlotte Lambert (m. William Phillips), Eliza Lambert (m. John Vandal), Frances / Fanny Lambert (m. William James Knight), Jane Lambert (m. Antoine Ducharme & Jean-Baptiste Chartrand), Margaret Lambert (Archibald David Johnstone) Maria Lambert (m. George Sinclair), Mary Lambert (m. James Tate/Tait), Sarah Lambert (m. Joseph Atkinson). Michel Lambert was purportedly born in the Northwest and was the son of Alexis Lambert (a French Canadian from Sorel, Quebec) and a First Nations woman.  3.
