- Misc.:
- 1. Jean Baptiste and Catherine Neault and Amable Nault and Josephte / Josette Lagemoniere of Berthier, Quebec were two early (1820) French Canadian Nault couples in Red River country
- 2. Neault & Naud are two spelling variations of the Nault surname. I’ve also noted an individual known as Nault or Henault.
- 3. The 1885 North-West Resistance by the Metis and the Cree, Kainai, Piikani, Saulteaux and Siksika peoples took place against a backdrop of starvation, broken treaties and encroachment by new settlers in Saskatchewan and Alberta. The resistance fighters eventually lost and Canada’s federal government asserted its control over the area. Metis Naults involved in the Resistance included: Andre Jr. Nault (aka Nin Nin) who was a Captain of the Metis at Cut Knife Hill. Elie Nault (m. Marie-Anne Charette), Joseph Nault / Henault (m.
