Chief Great Fire (Big John’s grandson) of Caughnawaga in New York’s Central Park (1927)
Help please 🙂 Can anyone confirm who this is?
“Big Chief patrols Central Park Lake. Chief Great Fire, a member of the Iroquois Confederation of Indians, who hails from Caughnawaga, Canada, uses a canoe as chief patrolman of the lake in New York’s Central Park. His grandfather, Big John Canada, was the first man to shoot the Lachine Rapids in a canoe.”
