An early Mattawa Algonquin Green couple are Jean-Baptiste / John Green (son of James Green and Marie Marguerite Constant / Kikons) and Susanne Lamure (daughter of Joseph Lamure and Marie Angelique Whiteduck) [Source: Jean-Guy Paquin]. 2. Hudson’s Bay Company has service records for two Greens – Oscar and William. Oscar Green was at Athabasca Landing and first in the Athabasca River region to help refurbish a steamer and then as a fireman and second mate, and later in the Mackenzie River district. William Green was employed as a seaman and later a steward in Columbia District. Note: HBC service records relate to employees who worked in traditional indigenous territories and who may or may not have started mixed-heritage families.
