Pelletier - early pioneers in Chaleurs Bay, New Brunswick | Shippegan genealogy

 

Lambert Pelletier (son of Athanase Pelletier and Marie Claire Jean) and his second wife Julie St. Pierre (daughter of Joseph Dessein sit St Pierre and Julie Levesque) were from Quebec. Lambert first appears in the Shippegan records in 1839 when he’s mentioned as a carpenter and later as he sets up a sawmill. Continue reading

Hebert Family Genealogy | Shippegan, New Brunswick Founding Families

 

Benjamin Hebert and Colette Scolastique Duguay are the first Hebert couple in Shippegan. He was a Quebecker and is believed to have been from the Gaspesie.

Their children included:

  • Dominique,
  • Joseph,
  • Angele,
  • Moise,
  • Isaie (m. Catherine Pelletier),
  • Angele (m. Vital Duguay and then Jean-Baptiste Paquet),
  • Francois d’Assis (m. Marie Robert),
  • Ferdinand (m. Sara Mallet),
  • Romain (m. Elisabeth Bulger),
  • Eugene (m. Marguerite Mallet).

The Duguays | Pioneer Families of Shippegan

Francois Duguay (son of Rene Duguay and Marguerite Lebreton of Paspebiac) and Madeleine Chapados (daughter of Jean Chapados and Catherine Larocque) are the Duguay founding couple in Shippagan, New Brunswick. Francois had arrived in Shippagan in 1791 with his brother Jacquot Duguay (m. Veronique Chapados) and brother-in-law Jean Mallet. They were among those in the Acadian Diaspora who had fled from Pisiquit, towards Restigouche and finally Shippagan.
