My Father’s family was from Montreal, Canada. They moved shortly before 1927. My dad had two sister’s: Fern and Rose both born in Canada. My Grandfather was Adolph D. Tessier born 1-6-1885. He had 10 children, Medana,Clemence,Laurant,Fernand,Medard,Neamic,Helena and Helaire. Two Children I do not remember the names. Message from Alice M. Azure Can anyone provide me with leads to more information about the St. Cyr name that appeared in the above list?  

The St-Cyrs are a family of French Canadian farmers who appeared in the 1901 census for Caughnawaga.

In 1911, Samuel Thurston and Mathilde Charlebois were living in Caughnawaga. Samuel’s parents were Samuel Thurston and Sophie Saurette/Larose while Mathilde was the daughter of Eustace Charlebois and Malvina Desjardins. They had been married in Ste-Elisabeth-du-Portugal Church in Montreal on November 8th, 1897. The census describes Samuel as English and Mathilde as French and states that they are farmers. The 1901 census for Sault-St-Louis recorded the Chartrand/Sabourin couple living in Caughnawaga with their children Rose Alma, Raoul and Fernanea(?). Onias Chartrand was the son of Victor Chartrand and Victoria Desjardins while Emma Sabourn’s parents were David Sabourin and Elizabeth Germain. The couple had been married in St-Charles Parish  (Lachenaie, L’Assomption, Quebec) on July 6th, 1896. Continue reading
