THE EXPULSION OF THE WHITES FROM THE INDIAN RESERVE BEING PROCEEDED WITH.

The Indian Act of 1876 provides that no person other than those of Indian origin shall reside with the Indian reserves, and for some time a contest has been waged to carry the law literally into effect. Toussaint Giroux & Marie Godard

Toussaint Giroux was from Reveillon (St-Martin) (Orne) and his parents were Jean Giroux and Marguerite Quilleron. The earliest mention of him in Quebec was in 1650. His father was a weaver. He was also a weaver of cloth. He died (or was buried) on February 15th, 1715 in Beauport, Quebec. Researcher: Francoise Lamarche-Montagne
