THE EXPULSION OF THE WHITES FROM THE INDIAN RESERVE BEING PROCEEDED WITH.
The Indian Act of 1876 provides that no person other than those of Indian origin shall reside with the Indian reserves, and for some time a contest has been waged to carry the law literally into effect. The feeling caused gave rise to considerable trouble, with which the death of Meloche in the fatal fire was closely connected. Continue reading
