Donat Robichaud’s Le Grand Chipagan: Histoire de Shippagan, supplemented with genealogical data from F. Theriault’s Les Families de Caraquet and is now being gradually enriched with information from other sources. Joseph Goupil (son of Joseph Goupil and his third wife Barbe Poulin, daughter of Louis Poulin and Helene Chiasson)  and his first wife Cordule Brideau had the following children:

  • Victoire (m. Luc Lanteigne, son of Michel Lanteigne and Virginie Savoie)

 

Joseph Goupil (son of Joseph Goupil and  Barbe Poulin) and his second wife Rose St Coeur had these children:

  • Xavier (m. Marguerite Godin),
  • Louise (m. Isaac Robert, son of Pierre Robert and Emelie Albert),
  • Laurent (m. Domine Savoie, daughter of Daniel Savoie and Clotilde St Pierre),
  • Remi (m. Catherine Mallet),

  • Marie,
  • Domine (m. Michel Chiasson, son of Laurent Chiasson and Marguerite Caissie).

Hebert Family Genealogy | Shippegan, New Brunswick Founding Families

 

Benjamin Hebert and Colette Scolastique Duguay are the first Hebert couple in Shippegan. He was a Quebecker and is believed to have been from the Gaspesie.

Their children included:

  • Moise,
  • Isaie (m. Catherine Pelletier),
  • Angele (m. Vital Duguay and then Jean-Baptiste Paquet),
  • Francois d’Assis (m. Marie Robert),
  • Ferdinand (m. Sara Mallet),
  • Romain (m. Elisabeth Bulger),
  • Eugene (m. Marguerite Mallet).

Index: Headstones of Beauharnois Old Cemetery

These are recent photographs I’ve taken of headstones of the nearby Catholic Cimetière de la Paroisse Saint-Clément.  This is the older of two Catholic cemeteries in Beauharnois (Quebec) and contains remains from a still older cemetery.
