  1. And look at those comfy blue chairs. This is fabulous. I wonder if the food was good – or not?

  3. This restaurant was considered high scale to montreal’s middle & some upper class. The food was good, atmosphere nice and in later years a wonderful black pianist played and sang. The man had class. He was also very friendly and many of us who worked at Eaton’s across the street enjoyed dropping in after work. Can’t think of another similar restaurant that exists today offering the same caliber of service that is not a hotel lounge or a really high-end restaurant that would be out most of the Astor’s patrons league. But when you were there you felt special. Great memories…..
