    • 1. The French Canadian couple Joseph Leveille and Isabelle Boivin received scrip in recognition of being among the earliest non-indigenous colonists in Red River Country.
    • 2.  My marriage database contains both Innu Montagnais First Nations individuals as well as mixed Montagnais / French marriages as listed in a study by the Communauté Métisse du Domaine du Roy et de la Seigneurie de Mingan.  Some mixed French/Montagnais descendants self-identify as Metis (see Etienne Rivard’s discussion paper).
