  • Misc.:  –  1. The Metis Nation of Ontario recognizes George Taylor and Jane, Unknown surname as a Root Ancestor Couple. They have descendants through their offspring:  George Taylor (m. Jane Prince), Jane Taylor (m. Unknown, McDougall), Margaret Taylor (m. Amable Hogue), Mary Taylor (m. John Stuart), Thomas Taylor (m. Mary Keith).  2. In 1872/1873 , a government survey was undertaken to determine the precise international border between Canada and the U.S.A.  Part of the survey was assisted by Metis guides and Chippewa men who were employed as scouts. Two of those Metis Scouts were Taylors and they were both sons of George Taylor II ( a surveyor for the Hudson’ Bay Company.  and Jane Bruce / Prince. Robert Alexander Taylor was married to Eliza Voller  while the second son Edward Prince Taylor was married first to to Mary Sabiston and then to Sarah Stevens.
