Savoie Genealogy | Shippegan early settlers

The first Savoies settled in the village of the Robichauds in an area that was eventually renamed Savoy Landing. The first settlers were Joseph Savoie and his first wife Isabelle Anastasie Robichaud (daughter of Jean-Baptiste Robichaud and Felicity Cyr) and his second wife Suzanne Roussel (widow of Jean Desroches).

The children of Joseph Savoie and Isabelle Anastasie Robichaud included: Joseph, Luc, Angeline (m. Lazare Chiasson, son of Chrysostome Chiasson and Marie Anne Daigle), Marie, Euchere (m. Madeleine Leger and then Lea Landry, daughter of David Landry and Antoinette Allard), Daniel (m. Osite St. Pierre and then Angele Beaulieu, daughter of Olivier Beaulieu and Chorestie Mallet), Dorothee (m. Joseph Chiasson, son of Chrysostome Chiasson), Helene Virginie and finally Anastasie (m. Lange Paulin).

The children of Joseph Savoie and his second wife Suzanne Roussel were: Felix, Melere Ben (m. Rosalie Mallet) and possibly another son Magloire.
