- 1. The Algonquin Ignaces descend form Amable Ignace ( son of Ignace Chawenasiketch and Marie Anne Makwa) and Marie Leblanc / Chalifoux / Jerifo (daughter of Joseph Chalifoux and Genevieve Simon) [Source: Jean-Guy Paquin].
- 2. The Metis Nation of Ontario recognizes Joseph Recollet and Marie Mageleine Ignace as a root couple.
- 3. In Alberta, some Metis Ignaces descend from Louis Ignace Wanihonte and Lisette / Lizette Courteoreille.
