    • 1. Many  Laplantes  (or their spouses) were involved in the 1885 North-West Resistance (formerly known as The North-West Rebellion). They were: Cuthbert Laplante (m. Elizabeth Piche), Jean Baptiste Laplante (m. Angelique Paul), Guillaume Laplante (m. Marguerite Sansregret), Josephte Laplante (m. Francois Fidler Sr.), Madeleine Laplante (m. Basile Plante), Marie Laplante (m. Alexis Gervais), Moise Laplante (m. Natalie Gervais) and Philomene Laplante (m. Pierre Lavalle), Toussaint Laplante (m. Elise Gervais) and Virginie Laplante (m. Ambroise Gariepy).
    • 2. The 1885 North-West Resistance included Metis and other indigenous peoples (Cree, Kainai, Piikani, Saulteaux and Siksika) and was in response to broken treaties, starvation and encroachment on their lands by new settlers in what are now Saskatchewan and Alberta. I see my great uncle’s William and Daniel Causley but what about there brothers and sisters Joseph, Andrew, Lewis Causley and sister Margaret Helen Causley Willette who was married to Joseph Willette #1003958, 102bn, 2nd Central Ontario, KIA May 15 1918 you seem to have forgotten about some of my Ansestors in your findings. The reason I looked through your work here is because I seen my g.grandmother Margaret Helen Causley and Louis Causley but I found nothing I feel the pretext was misleading and from my last comment I still have not heard from you about this.       Thank you for your comments.
      I’ve left this database up as a service to the public however I don’t monitor the account regularly.
      As stated above ” Please be aware that it’s a synthesis of the information I’ve collected in my personal research throughout the years and is by no means complete!”. I add the marriages as I transcribe each database year-by-year in specific areas, and only if I’m sure they should be included.
      I’ll be happy to add any of the marriages that are not included. Can you please list in a separate comment, the exact marriages with dates and locations.
